New Competitive Cheerleading Squad Takes First at Regional Competition!
Las Vegas, NV.
Saturday, February 15, 2003, nineteen all-star cheerleaders out of Anti-Gravity Sports Complex took first place at the UCA Jack Pot Classic cheerleading competition.
Owner, Christie Hayes, says “This is a very gratifying day for us. The girls shined on the one year anniversary of our program!”
This regional competition, hosted by the Universal Cheerleading Association, was a critical step in determining the outcome of the rest of the girls’ season.
The girls performed a clean routine and were given a score that was enough to win them a bid to the National Cheerleading Association national competition.
The cheer coach credits their success to the addition of a new tumbling coach, Peter Yao. Peter joined the staff just one month ago and has doubled the quality of the girl’s tumbling passes.
According to the coach “Cheerleading is won or lost on the difficulty and quality of tumbling.”
The members of the ninth grade and under competitive team are: Katie Adler, Anna-Mari Boskovich, Alex Dimoski, Breanne Ervin, Alyssa Hall, Brooke Hastings, Shea Jackson, Torey Johnson, Alyssa Lapp, Lauren Mieske, Nicole Plouffe, Lauren Rhoades, Hannah Rongitsch, Brittany Ross, Kaitlin Ross, Jamie Santana, Noelle Santos, Rebecca Waschak, and Megan White.
Anti-gravity also is the home to three competitive all-star squads in total, two for girls ninth grade and under and one for girls second grade in under.
The sports complex has hopes of building its cheer program in order to give more age groups an opportunity to compete in this fast growing sport.
